Previous Attempts to Sell the Dome Building

While the DBCC has generated significant excitement and interest in the Dome Building, this is not DAS's first attempt to sell or dispose of the Building.  Here is a brief outline of past attempts since the 2010.

• 2013 Master Development Request for Proposal (RFP): This solicitation sought a master developer for the sale of the Dome Building and additional parcels comprising much of the property then known as the “North Campus.” While a partial sale of the northeast portion of the site proceeded for housing development, the Dome Building itself did not attract a viable purchaser and remained unsold.
  
• 2017 Eastern Acreage and Parking Request for Proposal (RFP): This effort focused on the sale of the remaining 19 acres of undeveloped land along Center Street (not included in the prior housing development) and an associated parking lot. No viable proposals were received for these assets, and they remain in state ownership.
  
• 2022 Dome and Acreage Request for Proposal (RFP): This solicitation represented a renewed attempt to sell the same 19 acres of undeveloped land, the parking areas, and the Dome Building with its historic grounds under a comprehensive master development approach. Despite outreach and expressions of interest, no proposals advanced to a completed transaction, and the Dome Building again remained unsold.​
